International conference on the theme of “Jerusalem in Russian spiritual tradition” vas in Jerusalem on November 1st and 2nd, 2005.
Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Council on the "Role of religion in history", Imperial Orthodox Palestyne Soceity, the Pilgrimage Center in Moscow, scholars from the Russian Academy of Sciences and educational institutions in Moscow and Saint Petersburg (such as the Moscow State University), as well representatives of foreign academic establishments and Israeli scholars from Hebrew, Haifa, Bar Ilan Universities, Tel Hai Academic College, and Beit Berl Pedagogical Institute in Kfar Saba, were participate in the conference.

The conference was reflect on the history of the Russian prasence in the Holy Land; lectures vas given on various themes of Palestine studies, art history, Biblical archaeology and religion studies. Discussions may take place after each lecture.
